I am a first year economics Ph.D. student at George Mason University and a PhD Fellow at the Mercatus Center. I am currently working on the cost of economic takings in India and the US.

I earned my Bachelors in Economics (Honours) from Hans Raj College, University of Delhi. I completed my law degree (LLB) at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi and am enrolled in the Bar Council of Delhi. I also have a Masters in Law and Economics, as an Erasmus Mundus Scholar, from University of Hamburg, University of Gent and University of Bologna where my Masters thesis “Polluter Does Not Pay Model” was on the feasibility of state liability for environmental pollution.

I have also been affiliated in the past with various non profit institutions including Centre for Civil Society, PILSARC (a public interest law firm in New Delhi) and the Center of Competitive Politics as a Koch Fellow in 2006. I enjoy writing my blog and op-eds on constitutional issues which have been published in the Wall Street Journal Asia and other Indian newspapers like Mint.

I was born and raised in New Delhi, India and I miss the vibrancy and sunshine back home. In my free time I enjoy travelling, reading, listening to jazz and Indian classical music and visiting NYC.
